I like the protection that handguards afford from rain, wind, rocks and bugs.

The Suzuki OEM handguards made for the DL650 V-Strom will bolt right on to the B1250 Bandit. They also fit older Bandits too, but I'm not sure how well or what mods you need to do, if any.

They're only about $50 bucks from the dealer. Make sure you order the ones for the DL650, because they come with instructions and all the mounting hardware. The ones for the DL1000 do not.

Suzuki part#57300-27820-291  $49.95

Mine installed easily in about 20 minutes with just a couple basic hand tools. They work really well protecting your hands from the weather, and I think they look good, too!

Here's some pics...

Those look good.  I'll keep that in mind after I get mine in a few weeks...ABS on order.

Where did you get that tank protector piece?

Thanks.  I've ordered the ABS...I haven't even seen the blue color, hopefully it's dark enough that the protector color will blend in some what.
