In the old BBS, we had several good posts about CDI repairs. I'll post each thread into it's own message below.

I'm on another 400 board and someone sent their VFR board to this guy for repair/exchange and they were a happy customer. I checked the site and he also lists GSF400s. No personal experience and no prices listed on the site but here's another potential source for cdi repair/exchange. I've already sent mine off to the Netherlands so I haven't done anymore than look on the web site.

Re: Black box

I peeked at the site. They do have most of the info. in English. It does look likt they repair the notorious '400' boxes. The prices are in Euros.....and the company is in Holland.

Re: ALL Black Boxes are AVAILABLE!!!

Ummm... seems like koko and zodiac have.
Keep in mind the outfit is in the Netherlands, so shipping it back & forth will take longer and/or cost more than what you might be expecting. Zodiac isn't in NL (he's in Kenya) and he's pleased with the service received - don't recall where koko is from.

Re: ALL Black Boxes are AVAILABLE!!!

They are very professional and very very expensive and their blackbox works.
You have to give them the numbers on your blackbox, and they rebuild a new one from that or you send them your spoilt one and they repair it.
Shipping is fast and expensive.

Re: ALL Black Boxes are AVAILABLE!!!

I had the no starties problem with my Bandit, so I sent the CDI to Carmo. Shipping was a bit high, but they fixed it immediately and sent it back. The bike fired up instantly after installing it. They were great to work with, and they pretty much guarantee that the thing won't go bad again.

Overall, it cost me half of what it would have cost to buy a new CDI...even with the shipping. I highly recommend these guys.
