A good number of folks on here have done it.

I'm not talking from experience but from what I have gathered, you need the bearings to match the GSXR stem to the B4 head.

I'm sure TurboFB, HerrTod and a couple of other folks will chime in to confirm since they're running USDs.

I pretty sure the steering stem, which is pressed into the lower tree, is longer on the later model GSXR's, so you'd need to press the stems out of both the B4 & GSXR and press the B4 stem into the GSXR tree.  Be careful!  The stem isn't real sturdy and will bend if you aren't careful.  Best left to someone with machine shop tools & experience if you aren't so equipped.

BTW, you'd still be using B4 bearings this way.

I second this i run a 2006 front end on my gsxr 400 but paid big dollars to a machine shop to mod my frame so i use 2001 to 2006 bearings  :banghead:

I just pressed the stem out of my 94 750's lower clamp. Using my 20ton press,it was pretty un-eventful.
Its a 5 minute job if you've got at least a 12ton press.Your local machine shop will have no problem providing you tell them how to do it.
FYI,the stem is pressed out applying the pressure to the top of the stem. (threaded end) The monkeys at the machine shop would probably explode the bottom clamp before they realize it comes out the opposite way. You can see in the picture the lip on the bottom of the stem that prevents it from going into the the bottom clamp any further than the machined edge will let it.
Hope the shot helps in the explanation.

Jay,It needed a new bottom bearing and I'm tigging new stops on the clamp.Its a lot easier to work on without the stem and bearing.....
