The question's been asked here many times, but so far, I don't think any 250 owner has ever scraped up the cash to give it a go.

I'm of the understanding the 250 & 400 share the same frame & bodywork - and depending on the market, many other bits.  From looking at the pics, the 250's lump looks more like a 400 than the 600 looks like the 1200 and those two will swap with each other (600 to 1200 or 1200 to 600). Just a GUESS on my part, but I'm pretty sure the 250 & 400 will interchange with each other.

Since we get no 250's in the US, most of us Yanks have never even seen a B250.

If you end up doing it, then take some pics to document the work. I'm sure some 250 owners now and in the future would appreciate it.

the frames are identical, so its a drop in, you need the loom and cdi etc from the 400 too.
We're currently in negotiations with a buddy who has a non running 89 gsxr400 to get his engine to put in my 250 frame to make it a bit of a sleeper.
He seems to have taken a shine to the gixxer though and doesnt want to give it up.

sorry to revive such an old post, but there are new developements
we're picking up the gsxr400 next weekend, and will be attempting the swap over the next couple of months.
I'll be documenting it with pics, and i'll invariably be here to pick people brains for ideas along the way.
