Hi All,
I have a ~2000 model GSF250V in Australia. She's got Tingate clip-on bars and I intend to keep her a little while longer until I can upgrade. In the meantime the suspension ties itself in knots and I know the reason.
Have had a good look around, found some info but looking for a little more clarity:
- Do 400 fork springs suit the 250? I need a heavier set and have my eye on a set of Hagon springs here in Australia
- Does the 400 jack-up kit suit the 250? Banditmania have these and I am curious.
Cheers!

Anyone able to help?

What is the diameter of your forks? You bought clip-on...
What is the length of the factory bones? Factory B4 is 198.5 and 10mm shorter raises the rear 40mm.
We didn't get the 250 in the states so I couldn't possibly tell you what will work without knowing these things.

I believe the forks are 41mm. The dogbone measurements you need, are these from centre to centre of the bolt holes?

Yup. C to C. You can make your own bones as well, it's not difficult.
Input the fork information to a suspension company and they can make a recommendation on weight to use. Racetech comes to mind.

The clip-ons were a lucky purchase I think, originally on an earlier Gixxer 1100. Australian made goodness!
The more I am looking at this I am thinking the differences are significant. I measured the dogbones on the 250 as 136-138mm. Couldn't get a more accurate measure this morning.
