Hi All!
This may sound a silly question to all you bikers... but is the top yoke the same on a 400 as the 600 Bandit?? Have got clip ons on my 400 and want renthals.. it seems that here in the uk its easier to get parts for the 600.. please help.. Im new to all this! Thanx in advance!

I SERIOUSLY doubt it. The tubes are the same diameter (41mm) but I'll bet the spacing is different.
However, I'll bet that you could find a 400 owner that has the tubular bar type top yoke that wants to convert to clips.

Thanks for the speedy reply... Well if anyone out there wants to do a swap  .. gimme a shout! .. please.. im desperate.. i need to be sat up more.. too old for this down on the tank lark! hahaha

If you were here in the US, I'd consider it. Try posting the question over in the 400 forum.

I'm aware of that. I thought the premise of the original question might be mildly interesting to one or two of the "regular" members. :monkeymoon:

I've got two B4 upper triples with risers for handle bars.
I may be looking to swap to clip-ons when I get my GSXR400 forks (any day now). I'm not sure the adjusters on the GSXR forks will fit under the bars so I might be looking to switch to clipons.
The previous owner of my bike told me first gen SV650 upper triples fit the Bandit 400. Anyone know if this is true?

(and yes, I realize that I could have left a "shadow" over in the Tech forum)

....Could have moved it for HIM... :crybaby: Im a HER!!! lol
The posting bit to the USA worries me a bit.. expenses etc.. i was hoping for someone in the UK, but when and if u decide u want these clip ons, please let me know.. Cheers guys!

I did the opposite and purchased an flat upper tree from a guy in the UK. The shipping was £15.00 GBP (~US$28) and takes about 10 days.
I have the old upper and caps, if you don't find one in the UK, let me know and we can work out a deal. I also have the stock bars (slightly damaged) and a new set of flat "drag" bars. The drag bars (no, they are not wearhing fishnets and high heels) were a nice split between clip ons and the stockers. I thought the stockers were too far back and they were way uncomfortable for me.
BTW, the clip ons you have will not work on DogBoy's conversion because of the USD forks diameter.

The GSXR 400 forks aren't USD - they're just adjustable and have bosses for 2 calipers.
-
That sounds just the ticket... but i may just sell the bike as my other half is lookin to get a B12 so hopefully i can have his B6  but of course, if this doesnt happen, i will be in contact with you! :thanks:
-
As soon as my forks arrive in the mail, I'll check the fit and post the results.
-
My bad, I thought DogBoy was doing the GSXR USD conversion.
Are the GSXR 400 forks any better than what we have or do you just get the dual disk setup???

The only otherthing I'm aware of is preload adjustments. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Now you tell us...
How could we know before? :stickpoke:

hey dogboy! Any news on the forks?? Seems 600 yokes and easy to find and very cheap over here... should i just buy them and hope they fit??? :duh:
-
The forks are still on the slow boat so I don't have them to measure yet. Can't advise on the 600 yokes but if you find something else that is easier, jump on it. No sense waiting for me.
