Title: 91...750 bandit update
Post by: 91 400 on November 16, 2007, 12:43:49 PM
This is actually Albertinhouston... I have my bike fully up and running. I need carb work done to get the extra power that i'm lacking.  but other than that It working for me. for anyone that does not know wht i'm talking about. I have a 97 750 motor in a 91 bandit 400. dyno'd at 107 RWHP. from what i've read, it should be about 117-120.  I think the carb sync and jetting should take care of that for me.
I have only raced my friends 07 r6. from a roll of 30ish: we take off, I spun, then cought him, changed gears spun again, then caught him again and put two lenghts on him, then we ran out of road. I think I would have opened a bigger gap on him on the top end.
the bike of super powerfull for what it is. I'm going to get it weighed this weekend I hope. shoulbe well under 400lbs  but dreaming about 375.

That sounds like it'd almost as much fun as the guy around here that stuffed a Hayabusa motor in a GSX-R750.  :bandit:
With the fully faired 750, there's no clue to what lurks under the skin unless you're really good at knowing how much of the case cover is supposed to show on that model year.

same theory. How many people know what a 91 bandit is let alone it's motor looks like. :evil1:

I was just too excited to find this sit. When I would log in: first no reply or NEW topic tab.  then he did something and none of the forms would show at all. If he can fix it for me i'll go back to albertinhouston.

The 91 750 swing arm and rear rim I couldn't use. I think the motor as set in alittle too low. The chain rubs on the swing arm.  so I'm back to the stocker for now.
Couple of side notes.....
91 gsxr swing arm is shorter than a bandit.
There is no 525 rear sprocket for a 91 750(off the shelf that I found)
vortex can make any sprocket size you want for about $75 shipped.

yes I know....I'm trying to find a stock tank. then I have some MAJOR cutting and forming to do.
ok a very dissapointing weight.. I went to a truck weighing station it said 440lbs thats with the completly full tank . He said it could be off as much a 20lbs. lets hope. I weighed the tank when I got home and it weighs 46 lbs.  Ahh! I forgot i have a 91 USD front end on it. I'm sure it weighs more then the bandit's stocker.  so I guess that about right then. I guess.
anyway, i was hoping for under 400 but not even close. DAMN!!!

First... Stormi is a "she"!

So, when you log on as A.I.H, you can't post?  That's weird.  I don't see any reason for it...

Me either.  I've been working with him via email,.. and I -think- I may have it fixed, but the thing is, there's no reason for it.   The forums disappearing had to do with me adding him to a new "troubleshooting" group (everybody), and forgetting to assign the group permissions to any forums.   :duh:  A step I'm not used to, and likely will forget every time I create a group since I do it what? 3 times every board we migrate to?

Do you think a back tire would be petrafied(sp?) if it was put on in 95? I think thats when I installed it. I put another tire on today, man what a difference. The bike takes off like a missle. Kinda scared tonight though- Had on shorts and couldn't see very well on the road and I didn't know if the race compound tire would grip and flip me over. But I did manage to get on it 2 or 3 times.
I'm planning a 1/4 mile track tripsoon.  I think the second weekend in Dec. will post times and so on...

Absolutely!

Tires harden and crack, and such as they get old.  Not to mention, flat spots,... etc etc.  You will definitely enjoy the new rubber.   :bigok:
