Title: Aftermarket exhaust (rejet carbs?)
Post by: Squishy on October 04, 2011, 05:51:13 AM
Hi all.

My name is Walter and I registered here with the following question   :welcome:
I ordered a roadsitalia carbon ovale for my 92' bandit 400.
When running without DB-killer, will I need to rejet my carbs? ..or will adjusting the throttle needle clips be enough? (1 clip 'richer'?)

Thanks,

Walter

Stock headers?
If you have clips on your needle then you must have a jet kit. If not; you can put a washer under your stock needle.
You will also want a K&N filter for your airbox.

Wrong, not on the needles.  The little e clips and needles that accept them come with jet kits.  Stock Mikunis don't have any adjustment there.

It depends on your location. The US model bikes don't have clips on the needles and smaller carbs to meet  stricter emissions standards. The Canadian (and i believe EURO) bikes come with adjustable needles and slightly bigger carbs.

That's what I thought.. I have the 33mm carbs. And I doubt the previous owner installed a kit
