I had the bike out last week for a short ride. It was nice to be back on the road after a long cold snowy winter.
Other then a small issue with my starter everything went smoothly. Unfortunately this winter I didn't find any time for upgrades. Anyone get any work done this winter???
Gary, hows that motor coming along???

'Been riding intermittently right through the winter, only stopped for recent snow. Had the carbs cleaned out back in December, so the sucker started up no problem right down to 18˚F!

Portland Oregon is starting to come out of hibernation. In fact there is a sun break forecasted this morning and I'm taking the Bandit out to a remote coffee spot. This winter El Bandito staid laid-up with a bad petcock and an air filter that I lit on fire with too much starter fluid. :duh:
Now it's all back together with a valve adjust and it's kicking butt. Two months ago it looked like a pile of junk, now it's a gem; reality is probably somewhere in between.

its about 11 degrees Celsius in Kitchener-Waterloo...
I went out for a   pretty fun!

Well we shall see.. I have everything apart and then I chickened out  and sent the whole works to Pro6 to do. The head rebuilt, jugs honed, and the whole thing reassembled. I have a test days at the track on the 21, 22 and the 23rd of April. I hope to have the new engine in by then. Then after a couple of days of abuse, I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm getting oil for the B12 tomorrow so I may get out for a ride this weekend yet.

Nice work. I can't wait to hear how it goes. Keep us all posted. What track? Shannonville?
I'm going out tomorrow morning weather permitting. I also need to do an oil change, but it will have to wait until I get some more of those studs that break everytime I change my filter... even with a torque wrench!!

Yeah this winter was a breeze in toronto. I didn't put the bike to sleep until Jan 15th and I had it back out by March 15. I even got to do a wicked christmas day bike ride. Yay global warming.

Mine was parked from the last week of October until last weekend...that's the longest I've ever had a bike parked

Blackie weather forcast for Sat. "It's gonna rain"

Got mine fired up today and took it for a little blast. Been a long snowless winter so no good sledding!!!! Nice to hear the engine scream again
-

Let me second what Interfuse said, let us know how the rebuild goes. I have a spare B4 engine that I'm going to do that to also and I'd love to hear about your experience.

I will keep you guys in the loop as to how this whole thing works out. I'm looking forward to getting the engine back.
Pro6, the shop working on it, is one of the best race/performance shops in the country. So I know it's save in their hands.
