My fork and dust seals are shagged, how much would you charge for the forks when they're available? Cheers

Hello mate ,

Im not going to have a full set of forks spare when it's all done, i'm using the stantions on some other very bent forks, but if you want the dustseals from the b250 forks you can have them £5 to your door .

I'll have to check the condition of them first as theres no point if there shagged too.

is it the dust seals or your oil seals that  have gone?

oil seals are easy to do just drop the oil out of the leg undo the allen bolt at the bottom and clip at the top , pull them apart

drift the new seal in using the special drift tool ( length of pvc pipe from B&Q)

tighten the allen bolt and refill with oil it will be loads cheaper than buying new forks

Cheers

Andy

Any other bits you looking for?

Wow that's great, cheers. I've had to change the oil seals before (sort of accidentally went far too fast over a humpback bridge with a pillion and blew the seals on re-entry)

I didn't know it was that simple to change the fork seals, I stripped the forks bare last time!

Yeah let me know if the dust seals are any good thanks

will do,
they look ok but it will be a few weeks untill i get round to stripping them as i need the twin disc wheel first ( and an axel as the one that was there is shaped like a bannana) unless the weather is good on bankholiday monday then i'll get them done then

all i need now is someone to buy the rest of the bits now and i can have some space back in my shed to finish of the 400

:thanks:
Okay,

fancy sending me a pm to tell me how much you want for the clocks, my other half wants to know also as if I can't get my 250 runnin he's gonna stick em on his CBR600.  Also how much for the petrol tap as the diaphram in my petrol tank is knacked...?

(I've got the same probs as most of the complainants on this bloody forum and wish I hadn't bought it, but that's another story for another day)

Also when I said plastic sleeve, i meant for the air filter...not petrol filter (soz).

Pm Sent

stick with it

when they run they are great
just start with the basics

clean the carbs
new fuel filter
new air filter
check the valve adjustment
fresh fluids
fully charged battery

Ive got some spec sheets for the 250 somewhere translated from the web

try here just run it through Bablefish or altavista to translate got some useful info on there

28 mm flatslides and carbon rg500 cans

god that bike tried to kill me usually on one wheel

id have another if i could find a good one and had the space

I know the only other two stroke id like is my mates  same bloke who did the pipes and barrels

rg500 bigbore engine with pipes and flatslides in an RGV 250 frame

Not sure yet, it's in for the service and one of the screwheads is chewed on the reservoir cap. I'll let you know the status when I find out. Cheers
