My B4 is restricted to 33Bhp, and am getting pissed of at being stuck at 80mph.I know that they are in the carbs, does any body have any idea, on where about inthe carbs they can be found. Has any body else done this on thier bike. and how hard could it be :stickpoke:
Thanks Dave
-
easy as pie, take of the tank, take off the airbox, pop off the carb bank and take out the washers between the carbs and the intakes.
put back on the carbs, airbox and tank and enjoy the cheapest HP increase you'll ever get.
-
THANK YOU DUDE , am doing it now , will tell you how it goes. :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
-
ok have doneit, goes like stink. BUT the restrictors were not in the intake manifold, they were in the top of the carb under a black screw down cover.
-
they were in the top of the carb under a black screw down cover.
is it still restricted?
I don't understand where these top mounted restrictors would be.
Is it under the top cap but over the spring?
-
no it is now deresticted, the restrictors were under the black top cap of the carb with a spring running throught the middel of them. They appeared to restict the movement of, a black plastic slider that is around the pin and the air flow into the carb.
-
did you take any pictures? that sounds odd to me, but if its running better :congrats:

Yeah, what he said. Pictures please! :beers:
-
no i didn't but will get some tomorrow and post them, so watch this space
-
Hey Spacey, you promised something didn't you?
-
Sounds like they had just put something in to restrict the movement of the slides and needles. Probally better than putting something between the carb bank and the engine, in the intake manifold, as restricting the slide/needle's movements would keep the mixture in line whereas just restricting airflow would cause the bike to go rich.
:congrats: On your new HP!

There is also a ring in the vacuum lids which is stock for some models. The Japanese 60 HP model didn't have these rings. They prevent the slide from opening completely, holds it back the last 5 mm's. I've removed these rings in mine. Here's a pic of my modded lid.

These are placed around the pin in the black top cap, which you can see on the pic in my previous post.
-
nice one for putting up the pic hVE BEEN HAVING problems uploadeing,ye thoes are the little bighters. The most expensive bits of ally in the world £175
-
£175 ?? I've seen them go for less than 20 euro on eBay. Since almost nobody needs or wants them they are pretty cheap. Only problem is getting the bike as 25 KW on the papers.
-
ye the paper bit is what costs the majority of the money
