Hi all,
I have searched tires and theres loads of posts , mostly old .
I have searched MAXXIS ,and not so many results and again all old posts.
Just wondering what people thing of the
MAXXIS MR6029 Supermaxx Touring tires.
Can get a set a lot cheeper than most other big named tires.
Most reviews ive read makes them sound OK, but again there mostly old reviews, and things change over time .
they still make the 150/70's , which me B4 has on it already
I've read that some people use the 160/60 instead, ( fatter & slightly lower ? )
Dose this change much if anything , about the ride?
Thanks for any info
Jay.

Hi Jay
The standard wheels on the b4 are...rear 4.0 and front 3.0 these who fit 160/60 more then likely have fitted Gsxr wheels which are... rear 4.5 and front 3.5 which give you more choice tires and give you more contact between the tyre and road.
I don't think 160/60 will fit well on the 4.0 wheel If at all. Regards to MAXXIS MR6029 Supermaxx Touring tires, I never use them so can't help.

Yep a 160 will be like a big round balloon on a 4" rim. If you fit a different width/height tyre remember it will alter the gearing so you may find you have to cost in a sprocket as well. Would be nice with a 150/60 and then correcting the height with new dog bones.

I have a 160/60 on a stock Bandit 400 rim & sprocket and it fits fine.

Hi
Interesting :trustme:...... And not like Chris said "like a big round balloon on a 4" rim"
Have you’ll just fitted the tire or have you been riding on it for awhile! What’s the handily like !!

I've put about 5000 miles on it and about worn it out. Handles great.

sounds good :thumb:

I wouldn't try wider or higher than 160/60-17 on the rear though unless the fender/hugger is removed. With the 160/60 there is a pretty even spacing of approx. 10mm all around between the fender and tire, any wider or higher would hit it.
