I finally found the time to go for a bike ride. First one since November (stupid winter).
Bike fired right up and is running strong. Tires, fork seals and brakes are needed. And damn I'm sore today. :banana2:
-
Sounds great! My time off the bike was shorter, but the Bandit was down longer. Took it to work today as it's all good now. Great to be back on two wheels isn't it?
-
Haven't been on since November? That sucks! Is that because of the weather over there?
I'm fed up with not being able to ride since about Jan when it broke down. Counting down the last few weeks to get her going again!
-
Mostly due to weather. From December to March it's too cold for riding. I could have been out earlier this year but my schedule hasn't allowed any time to mess with the bike. :(
As much as I miss riding during the winter, it gives me a break to get other stuff done.
-
I'm jealous! Keep the shiny side up, Mike.
-
Rob how the heck are you bikeless? You've had a load of bikes since the little bandit!!
-
Its good to get the bike out when the sun is on ya back- hope you enjoyed the ride.
Rob- you will have to go down a steep hill on the Gary Fisher and make some engine noises, you thinking of getting another bike?
-
I'm picking up my bike today from the shop. Brand new tires and clutch. Excited! Now all I need to sort out is my suspension issues. GSXR front end here I come...
-
New clutch = awesome. Oil leak from right hand engine casing not so awesome.
-
Yes guys, the bikeless thing sucks! I'll be back on the road myself once the kids are a little older. I had that Kawi for almost 2 years and my only "fun" rides that didn't involve getting back and forth to work were to take my 13 year old son out for a few minutes (only to have him come in and say, "Mommy - Daddy hit 90!!!).
Hopefully your leak is just a pinched gasket or something, Mike.
-
I hear ya. I'd struggle with the same thing and my wife is on a I wanna baby kick (and the puppy only tamed it for a couple of months). It's probably more of a tease to have a bike in the garage but not want to ride it.
The oil leak is because the shop used RTV on that casing. They're still waiting for a bearing to arrive for the clutch and they didn't want to put a gasket on until it arrives. Unfortunately the RTV didn't work and leaks when it gets hot. So I'm still not riding. Hopefully it'll get sorted this week.
