Title: Backfire/popping
Post by: bilbowood on October 09, 2008, 10:30:42 AM
My bike seems to pop coming down from high revs. It's from the exhaust. Apart from that bike seems to run pretty well.
I know that when the previous owner bought the bike it had no choke and after changing the plugs, oil, filters and choke mechanism loads of thick black smoke came out the back and then cleared and after that it was much better, but the popping is something the other guy told me about. Is the bike running too rich? Is it a simple matter of adjusting the Fuel/air screws?

Cheers

Popping on decel is usually a lean condition.  Do a search here for "lean popping"....

No PAIR on the old B4.  Although, I'd like to block mine on the Kawi.
