If you look in the sight glass/s on the reservior for your front and rear brakes and the fluid colour is going darkish rather than nearly clear, THEN you need to change it!
This will improve braking and preserve the condition of all braking system components. Just done mine, really pleased and the clear fluid in the reserviors looks cool compared to the old dark shite
