Title: Bridgestone BT-45's -- Updated -- First Good Ride
Post by: mud390 on July 06, 2010, 05:56:26 AM
I'm looking for new tires for my B250.  I'm on a bit of budget and I'm not looking for high performance tires.  I mostly commute, run errands, and occasionally hit the hills on the weekends.  The BT-45's are available locally (Japan) for around $200 a set (stock sized) installed.  Dunlop GT 300 (???) are around the same price.  I'd like to keep it under $250 if possible.  Thoughts and opinions?

I have been putting the BT 45's on my bike A 91 400 bandit, for years now. I tried all others and hated them. The bt's fit the bike very well. You will not go wrong buying these. They look so nice too. Really they are the best fit for these small bikes. Let us know what you decide.

Well, I got the BT-045's installed today.  Stock sized (110/70 and 140/70).  I only rode from the shop back to the house, which was about 30 Km.  Even with that short of a ride, the difference from the old tires is night and day.  The old tires were mismatched, wrong sized, cracked and dry rotted.  Basically, utter crap!  The Bridgestone's ride so much nicer.  I can't speak to their handling in corner yet, but it looks promising.  I'll report back after I get some more miles on them.  So far, so good!  Oh, best of all, got them 20% off.  Total, with new valve stems, mount and balance was $186 out the door.

Good I'm happy you like them. And my friend They coener just fine. I cant get them to slip ( good thing ) and Ive leaned the bike to the foot pegs, all the way up the side of the tire. You will like them.

So I took the bike out today and did a nice little 100 mile ride through the mountains.  Lots of turns to scrub the tires in.  Started off easy and progressively found the edge of the tires.  Coming from the old tires, these things are absolutely amazing!  The bike actually wants to turn now.  Transitioning from left to right is very easy.  Steering is very neutral and feels much lighter.  Ride is smoother.  Nothing bad to say!  I was pretty happy when I got home to see no chicken strips.  The tires never felt loose or slick, even at their edges.  I couldn't be happier and will not hesitate to recommend them.  Time will tell about longevity, but for right now, I'm sold!
