Title: Cap fell off muffler
Post by: stefanoascari on May 30, 2013, 08:12:38 AM
The white cap on the stock muffler fell off while I was riding (??) and now I can't find it. The bike sounds the same and don't seem to have any loss of power. However, the back end of the muffler is riveted with holes now and looks like crap. Is it still ok to ride? Should I replace the whole muffler?

I'd guess that riding it with out the cap would cause no problems. I think the pipe is fully enclosed to the point up to the cap, so it shouldn't cause any lean running issues. You could pick up an exhaust from eBay if your worried about the look. Or be unique and make your own pipe. There plenty of used ones that you could pick up for next to nothing. Just a thought.

Ok,
Now that there's more light I can see that some holes were drilled and it does sound a little bit louder...Should I be concerned?
