Anyone know where I can pick up a rebuild kit for the carbs on my 91? Also are the brass tubes for the choke circuit on the sides of the carbs replaceable? The tube on the #4 carb is broke right where it enters the carb.
-
Well I bought a kit from Jay (gsxr400racer) recently, so he should be able to sort you out I think. I would PM him.
As for the tube I am not sure, I don't think it's a very common part albeit very easy to break!
-
:beers: :thanks: I'll give him some time to see this, if not I'll PM him when I get off work.

lol just happen to be straightening some piston kit info up. The carb kits i can do $75.00 as always come with more than you need to make sure you don't have to get into them for at-least a year :stickpoke:lol pay-pal to my email as for the brass tube you ever sweat-ed water pipes before brass pipes better to have solder on it than a air leak there are 3 other carbs that's are going to help the bike start if you clog it up or buy another set of used carbs or go to Lowe's/home depot and find a small brass sleeve tube and solder that on
-
I'm not too worried about the tube, I rarely have to choke my bike to start it, even on cold mornings, as long as when the choke is off and it doesnt leak I'ld be fine with that. I'll try the brass tube and solder though, should I do this with a torch or an electric soldering iron (I need an excuse to buy a new one)? The only thing I'm worried about is I would have to use a smaller tube, as it is litterally broken off at the carb body.
As far as carb rebuild kits, if you have em, I'll paypal you tonight/tomorrow.
-
cool just solder with a tight small torch you may get it hot enough with a good soldering iron tho. but i use a torch. I have to order the kits so it takes about a week to get the sooner you send the sooner i can get it to you.
cheers
Jay

Sweet, get them rebuilt, then finally after 3 years riding dirty go in for the MSF course and get my endorsement mid May, signed up for the class today. I could just go down and do the states test, but I kind if want to take the class anyways, I think my insurance company will give me a break for it.
-
or you could take a street school on a track and get the same discont but have more fun! :stickpoke:
-
Our local track is down indefinately at the moment, got bought out by the county though, they hope to have it open this summer but, you know how local government and politicians can work to screw ya. If it gets reopened, I definately plan on some track days.
-
Any updates? Looking at new bikes today, may trade the Bandit, but most likely will go with private sale if I do have to get rid of it. I've got a guy interested, I just want it tip top for him as he is a co worker.
