Dude - work a group buy on that! My clutch cover is so gouged a slight tip over is gonna bust it. I'd definitely be down for that if you could score a deal.

Nice looking and could definitely come in handy. What are they using to attach the covers? epoxy? or..?
-
Daz, says a group buy is in the works as soon as they straighten out the cover details !

4. The adhesive forms part of the armour system. As such we do not recommend using anything else.
NEVER EVER USE AN EPOXY OR HARD SETTING ADHESIVE FOR ATTACHING ENGINE ARMOUR
Doing so completely eliminates the benefits of the cover.
The adhesive in the fitting kit is a marine adhesive designed to be water and fuel proof once it dries. It also dries to a rubber like filler. This final layer has 3 functions:
1. It glues the cover on!
2. It acts like a shock absorber in an impact. Absorbing energy from the armour and spreading it over the cover.
3. It allows the armour to flex on impact. This is fundamental to the armour ABSORBING as much impact energy as possible. The more it can absorb the less gets transmitted to the engine casing underneath.

:thanks: echo :beers:
-
You have to glue them on? I figured they would have bolted on overtop of the existing over.
-
as the site says the glue acts as an additional shock absorber, if they were just bolted around the edges they'd probably rip off on impact
i was looking at these for the SV as i know a guy who has them on his gsx1400 and they look sweet, he had an off and the case covers and frame sliders saves him from a very expensive repair bill, all he has to replace was his handlebars and one mirror after the bike had slid down the road.

-
Count me in for both sides.
-
If they can ship to the Netherlands, count me in for both sides :bigok:
-
Daz can ship any where! yours would come from the UK all US orders will come from me! thanks
-
I realize that the group discount is dependent upon interest, but I think interest is dependent upon the discount amount too. Does Daz have any estimates on discount? In other words, can he say "if you get 10 people, cost is X", "if you get 20 people, cost is Y", etc.? Just curious. I have a pretty clean pair of covers that I'm looking at powder coating, but if the price is right on these, who knows.
-
still waiting on a answer from daz! :beers:
-
Okay who wants them 5% discount ! off regular price! let me know ! :beers:

For the 2 piece road set, looks like about $190.83 plus shipping. $162.76 + ship for the race set.
The 2 pieces are clutch and starter covers.
Road set is a glossy finish in carbon.
Race set is a flat finish in kevlar. The flat finish is also available in carbon for more but I am sick of doing the math.
Here's a pic of a Kevlar piece (not 400-specific):

I'm considering the kevlar race set but it's still a bit rich for my blood I'm afraid. Stupid exchange rate! Why couldn't these be in Canada!?!?
