I also got one a while ago, and I've not had a chance to test it since I had swapped a larger capacity battery 12V 10AH but the manual that came with the CDI said bigger batts are one of the reasons they snap all the time. The other reasons were bad regulator, bad coils, and bad wiring.  :stop: Oh and jumpstarting with your car batt fried my Dutch-repaired CDI before I got this one.

Best regards,
Patrick.

You never have to jump start the B4 with a car or anything. Simply put it in 2nd gear or above, take four steps, let the clutch go and voila

My lesson was loud, a bit smoky but very clear on the idea of jumpstarting a bike.
I also appreciate the lessons that abound within this board! Thanks everyone!
Patrick.

Title: Differing CDI Numbers.
Post by: Kenyan01 on December 17, 2006, 12:56:35 PM
I bought the latest CDI off ebay new. However, it has different numbering from the old one. The new one is 10D00 while the old one is 10D30. I have a gone battery and so while still awaiting it to arrive from Germany (eBay again), I am curious to know the significance of the difference in CDI numbers... Anyone?

Further to that, the seller has supplied instructions (in Spanish) on how to twist the signal generator to sensor relationship in order to march the new CDI... I have to write to him to translate the same into English... What could the instruction be all about?

Best regards,
Patrick.

I am anxiously awaiting my new battery to get to me to test the new CDI.
Duane, did your cdi come with an instruction page in English? Or was it spanish too?
Best regards,
Patrick.
