Post by: niclyg on May 12, 2017, 08:37:41 AM
Hello to everybody, i have a maybe tricky question.

I have the last bandit 400 vc that suzuki produced. I also have the previews vc model engine. can i swap them with no problem or do i need to swap the harness also and the CDI?

VC 2nd gen is slightly different than 1st gen. For example, 1st gen has 4 fail switches, 2 on each side while 2nd gen has 1!
Maybe you'll get away with some minor mods of the stock wiring.

Hi, sorry for the off-topic...nsc, is that for the 1st gen or the 2nd?
I can't find a service manual for my '94 VC anywhere, just for the non-VC versions and the '97 2nd gen...even in Japanese would be helpful to have it.

Thanks!

Regarding the OP, as nsc mentioned, I guess it would need some extra work in the electrics, not sure about the CDI/signal generator and no idea at all about frame mounting compatibility...

Its 1st gen. It's actually from GSF400VM, the famous Japanese model that got imported in many countries.
The way i managed to sort out Japanese is to OCR the document and then use
http://jisho.org/ which is a good and relable reliable japanese to english online dictionary.

Here's full service manual in Japanese
