Title: Checking Oil Level

I know this may sound dumbass (and perhaps it is after all this time), but I've always been unclear about this.  Fortunately my bike has never been starved of it.

Anyway, I know you need level ground, but do you check the oil level gauge by putting the bike on the center stand, or by holding it upright on it's tires (which is kinda hard to do, I might add)?

Upright on two wheels, as on the main stand the bike is usually not level back to front so then it is not going to give you an accurate level. But at the end of the day if its at the top of the level on the main stand its going to be fairly high when on two wheels.

Actually, if you're at the Full mark on the centerstand, the level will be higher when on two wheels - therefore, over-serviced.

On the B12 & B6, 1/2 way up the sightglass on the c'stand is pretty close to the full line when on two wheels.  I'm guessing the B4 would be similar.
