well on each of the coild you have 2 wires right.?
a yellow 1 and a black with a yellow stripe.
wich way round do they connect to the coils?
eg. yellow on top prong black on bottom?
thanks dene

Mine were more orange but the non-black goes on top.

o thanks m8
also wen i took the supressor caps off the left side coil waz connected to the nearest and farest plugs. do they have to be in any order?
-
left coil feeds #1 and #4 cylinder. right coil feed #2 and #3.
on my '93 (and my old '91 IIRC) the wires to the coils were orange (upper) and white (lower).

ok thanks
bit weird tho, why do they feed different ones?
and the wires on mine are yellow and yellow and red its a 1997 bandit 400 v

okay, I'm talking out my :monkeymoon: right now, but I THINK...
with 4 cylinders, #1 and #4 fire 180* apart and #2 and #3 fire 180* apart. So you can spark #1 and #4 simultaneously at 180* and it'll hit each cylinder twice in its four strokes, but the extra one falls at the end of the exhaust stroke and is basically wasted. Seems like a waste, but you can then run 4 cylinders on two coils by firing them twice as often.
That's my thought on it. I'm sure others know better, or at least know the right terminology
