It's alive!
« on: March 23, 2009, 01:35:29 AM »
Yesterday I fired the bike up for the first time in 2009. She fired up easily and seems to be running pretty good. It's still to cold to do much riding but I'm looking forward to april.

It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

I did a little 20 km run when I fired it up to get gas and put air in the tires. It was fun fun fun but cold. I had mild frost bite on my thumbs when I got back. This was the first winter were I didn't bother winterizing the bike and she started up easier then any other spring...

The guys I ride with from time to time have already logged a couple of "rider downs" this season due to over-eagerness, cold tires and shitty roads.

Be safe out there guys, better days are ahead! I have to keep telling myself that everytime I start the bike till the roads clear and the temps come up.

Me included :( Dumped my brand new (well, new to me) Triumph Sprint last weekend exactly because of this. It was only at 15 kmh at a right turn in an intersection...just a scratched up fairing, but yeah, I learned my lesson...the hard way :(

Sorry to hear bro. After not driving for months even 60 km an hour felt fast.
