I've done a carb synch with the Po Man's Carb Synchronizer before and it works just fine. BUT you have to be careful not to suck all the water into your carb if they're way out of whack. I put a couple of inline valves in each side and that allows me to damp it down or shut it off quick if I need to.

a little food color in the water can help too.
there's some more info here: http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=2355&highlight=man+carb
have fun.

recommended idle for carb sync? I usually put it around 3500 or so, and as I get closer to sync, back it down (it rises as the sync gets closer to perfect).
You can really tell when you're gettin' close as the engine can REALLY smooth out.
