italian windscreens
« on: December 06, 2005, 11:40:23 PM »
so this euroshop is closing out its inventory
and there are some red & maybe even carbon windscreens available
I've never had something this fancy on my bike and since I'm in LA
i'm wondering if it might get stolen in the city

he's asking around $100 I hope to bargain for lower
since some on ebay can go for $85 shipped
hopefully he'll throw in some hardware too

I'd like more protection on the highway, but I feel it might just be a waste
of my time & money since I still only have the standard handlebars.

Since the deal isn't that special and the stuff maybe too fancy and theft worthy should I just pass on them and wait till I get lower bars?

I went from naked to a Buell flyscreen, it does make a difference.

It helps take some of the buffeting you feel and moves it up. Depending on how tall you are, it can move it to your helmet but it does take it off of your chest and mid/upper body for the most part. Anything above 70 will still move you around a bit but it helps. A lower bar position helps too as you're not in the "sit up and beg" position.

As far as theft goes, usually the bracketry is a bit complicated for it to be a "quick theft". Anymore I go by "if they want it bad enough, they're going to take it" mentality; something like that I don't think is a big deal. YRMV.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but where could someone find a buell flyscreen?

On one of the Bandit pages they listed all of the parts and part numbers so you can go down to your local Buell dealer and purchase.

I found the dealer not-so-helpful and endt up surfing e-bay for it.
