ECONOMICAL CARB O-RING SOURCE

I have been scavenging parts to spruce up my recently acquired Bandit 400 and of course the carbs need "going through". Some of the O-Rings are no longer available from Suzuki and those that are available have ridiculious pricing. I just ordered some through this source;

These have not arrived yet but their prices were very realistic, under $1.00 each, and they sell very small quantities such as 3 or 4 each.
Just thought I would share this.

good any orings fit just depend how much you spend how well they are made and how many times do you really want to get into the carbs? Also are the float needles in good shape? how about the float bowl gaskets? One more thing dont know where you shop but they are all still available from OEM Suzuki. Spares are great to have

is there a list available somewhere that shows all the o rings you need?

I just measured the parts that the o rings fit on with a digital caliper and ordered the sizes from the list. Not a big job as long as you have a digital caliper. This is a tool you should have if you are doing any precision measuring or repair work. You can buy a digital caliper at any quality tool store of you can get them at places like Harbor Freight if you want an inexpensive one.

I have the sizes scribbled down somewhere, I can't remember the source but I know it's accurate. I'll post them up once I find it.

EDIT:

Emulsion tube: 10x1
Pilot air screw: 3x1
Floats:            5.5x1.5 and 7.5x1.5
Diaphram lid:    4x1

I don't have the internal measurement but I'll just guess that it will be for .5mm width.

Those ones are nitrile and hold up to fuel better. My guess anyways.

they sell them here at our HBF in a variety box nitrile

Viton is better in fuel than Nitrile, especially if any alcohol (ethanol, methanol) is involved. The typical kits that are sold do not have these very small o rings in them.

yeah i think we both got mixed up VITON is what i meant they sell both i just dont want to go spend 20 for orings to tell you whats all in there but i looked and would have had the float ones and slide oring and carb top ones at least[/color]

Wow, great link!  Woulda saved me plenty on my B4 carb rebuild.  I got plenty of other carbs around here though.

Those digital calipers arent a bad price, i mite look into getting a set.

dont forget the rubber plugs for the pilot jets if you put them in place with out the floats in place and turn the carbs over and they fall out you might need new ones
