1 are breathers and not too important, they may connect to the air box.
unsure about 2.
3 is fuel in from the tank.

Yep, 2 are for fuel overflow, 3 is for fuel inlet and 1 appears to be fed to a catch tank of some sort... perhaps emissions based?

I'd have initially said it was an oil feed, however after seeing this I'm doubtful:

Is the hole threaded at all? If it's not, then for now it would seem it's nothing to worry about.
I'll keep looking, and edit this post if I find anything

It is not threaded but it has a track in it,and when i tilt the engine oil comes out of the hole(it has to be covered with something)

Well it doesn't seem to protrude enough for it to have a hose attacked to it with a jubilee clip, and neither is the mating surface clean, so it can't be bolted upto it.

I can't find anything online or a close up of an engine to see what else is meant to be connected to it.
Remains a mystery until the 250 brigade get here.

I've had a look through another few hundred photos and the closest pics I can find are these:
(I can't see anything in the hole at all in either of them).

Thank you very much for your effort, don't get yourself to trouble that much pal  :beers:
the only thing i found out is that the hole is connected to the water pipes inside the engine and maybe it refers to the coolant system.
i'm working on it anyway, and whenever i faced with a problem i'll bother you with my questions again!
 :thanks:

It's fine mate, i've not got a lot on today, so needed something to keep me busy. :thumb:

The right hand hole is definitely a water/coolant hose, but I wasnt sure about the center one, as I cant see any pics off another hose coming off it, and surely there would be enough flow through the one right hand pipe to keep the lump cool..? (in order as the engine sits in the photo).

Anyway, good luck finding an answer!
All the best,
Bullet5.

Thats not so good!
There should be a metal plug in the hole (core plug) its where the sand is released after the block has been cast.
The hole is simply pluged with a metal disc and generaly only comes out if the head gasket has gone and pressure in the coolant has risen high, could also be caused by a bad rad cap not blowing off BUT this is usually a sign of head trouble.
Lets hope im wrong!!
I dont think they can be bought so a new plug would have to be turned and fitted.
