I'm looking for a full exhaust for my 400 track bike. Noise is not a concern as it's only going to be ridden on the track. I tried the search function already and even checked the FAQ. I saw that Vance and Hines makes one, but can't find any indication of it on their webpage.
Any help appreciated.
Ian
Also, if there's an exhaust for another bike that fits our bikes I'd be interested too.

yeah I got a full V&H exhaust on my bike. It is kind of loud but not unbearable. I don't know what bike it is from though. I will look to see if there is a serial or model # somewhere on it. Otherwise, I know pitter is selling headers and he could hook you up with info since he's pretty knowledgeable.

I don't think anyone still makes a full system for the b4. Your best bet is ebay.

or go custom-made if you have the cash?

Do you know who can build a 4-2-1 pipe for my b4 ?

Last year Laser/Jama (http://www.laserexhausts.com) still listed a B4 system... but it doesn't seem to show up today.
I thought there was someone here back in the days of the old board who had used a FZR400 system - but that's probably not any easier to find now than a B4 setup.

Well, here in Belgium my brother once made a custom exhaust for his car and i asked if they could do this for bikes. They answered if the diameter is compatible with their "tube-bending machine" then it isn't a problem. but it's always a question mark how the performance will be...

A 4-in-1 is better for the B4, the engine is designed to make power at high revs so an exhaust designed to give more power in the mid range won't do it much good :stickpoke:

I beg to differ as I'm lucky enough to have both pipes for my bike, a 4 into 1 yoshimura cyclone and a 4 into 2 into 1 yoshimura zyclone.
peak power is about the same as my speeds in the 1/4 mile are within 1 mph of each other. What i can tell you is the 4 into1 has NO midrange and is a bugger to jet. The 4 into 2 into 1 has alot more midrange and was alot easier to jet

Alright I agree, although a 4-in-1 will give more top end than a 4-2-1 if it has the correct tuned length, also depending on the style of the collector. Although the loss in a 4-2-1 is minimal as long as it does not have long secondary pipes that restrict gasflow.
The advantage of the 4-2-1 is that any vacuum created in a primary tube by the exhaust gas will not be bothered by what's taking place in the other three tubes, because the cylinders that are firing 360 degrees apart are connected to each other. So at low gas speeds when the vacuum is poor, it will have a full effect on the pipe that it is connected to thus raising the mid-range. Also there is less turbulence in the collector which helps as well.
