Title: fitting an aftermarket race can

if i wanted to fit an aftermarket race can ot my bandit 400 would i need to buy/ have made a link pipe first

or could i just cut the old can off and find another can to fit ?

becouse on my sv you had to buy a new link pipe and slice the old can 20cm down the pipe so that you could fir an aftermarket can at the right angle.



also what would the diametre be if i cut the old can off?

Hi, I cut the OEM exhaust off and fitted my race can, this is on a '96v bandit 400.  It looked ok, but the angle was right and it made the end of the can kick out a little rather than being parallel with the bike.

I got a company called stelph exhaust systems to make a link pipe up, as scorpion didnt list my bike on their website.

It cost me about 70pounds, looks good, but not a 100% fit.  SO a little gum-gum or exhaust cement was used to seal any holes.

Sounds amazing now!
