Fork Help
« on: May 21, 2007, 09:51:05 AM »
Ok, im looking to know do the models of bandit with the clipons have the same LENGTH forks as the ones with the straight bars.

Reason is i have a b400 with straight bars (single disc model) and my fork stanchions are pitted.  I can get hold of a set of forks from the jap import model with the 2 discs and clipons.  I was planning on taking the stanchions out of the jap forks and putting them into my normal forks.

I always thought that both the bandits had the same forks except on the twin disc/clipon model the top triple was different and there was a caliper mount on both sides.  So the stanchions would be the same.

there is a slight difference but someone on here already did this with gsxr 400 tubes and it has worked fine so if that's your option i would say go for it. Or do a search and find the post about the other fellow doing it.

Every time i try to do a search it brings back pretty much every thread ever posted about anything lol.

I suppose i could try it anyway since the forks are so cheap.

I would have thought the forks would be the same length.

Was it a big difference in length between them when the other guy did it?

Sortve along the same lines just how adjustable are gsxr gk73 forks compared to bandit ones? I assume all the bandit stuff bolts onto them such as calipers but they have some adjustment am i correct?

yes spring preload and rebound and they use the same brakes as the dual caliper model
