Rear Axle Cotter Pin
« on: April 26, 2011, 06:30:50 PM »
Just took a leisurely 1200 mile trip over a long weekend.  Noticed this morning that the big cotter pin on the rear axle is gone.  Not sure if it bounced off or someone just thought it was too cool not to steal.

A cotter pin isn't likely to bounce out unless you didn't bend it at all.  Now, a hitch pin clip is a different story.  They might be able to bounce out if they're well worn or not a snug clip fit - which is why I saftety wire mine "closed".  I do that mostly to keep it from walking away with some sticky-fingered folk, which I've had happen twice.
