Fork retainer help please
« on: April 05, 2008, 02:38:37 PM »
Hi guys

My one fork leg is leaking oil badly. I bought new seals and oil and hoped that I would get away with using my DRZ fork tool to undo the retainer but no luck. The bike is now on stands and I can't get the old seals out. It's almost impossible to guess the size of the nut down there. I'd apreciate and info on what can be used as well as the size of nut etc. I need. I have a second gen VV Bandit, it has 41mm forks but I think it's the same for all the models ?

Thanks

i use a box socket hammered onto a broom handle, works rightly for me.  Didnt put them back in as tight as they were so should be easier next time.
If you cant join them, beat them...
