Title: GSR 400 fuel injected motor into my gsxr 400 chassis project
Post by: gsxr400 racer on May 02, 2007, 08:18:28 PM
If i can manage to get this motor here from japan that i have bought next years project will be to get this thing in my gsxr 400 frame and start that tuning process. I'm sure that change will be the end of the gsxr 400 and there will be no more to buy. Holy cow! But what I am saying is that i will more than likely have a ton of stuff to sell motor wise a full race motor a spare race motor couple heads maybe a 465 kit in one of the motors couple of this couple of that we will see found a cheap place to get magnesium wheels so that's on the list to.

Bore and stroke on the GSR 400 is 54.6 mm By 42.5 mm and the crank come from something already sold in the US.

What's it share the crank with that's in the US, the GSXR600?
(The GSR 600 & GSXR 600 are 67mm x 42.5mm - so it sounds like it.)

If that's the one, what's the advantage of using a 600 motor that's sleeved down to a 400? Why not just put a 600 motor in it? Or is the class limited to 400's? If that's the case, isn't the 465 a cheater motor?

the class goes 442 and 465 d-super bike is up to465 and formula 2 is 580cc's but I only know of the fzr 400 getting that high. Fuel injection brother that is the key and the posibility that i can stick stock bandit 400 pistons in maybe and have 442 again lol It never ends.
