I went riding yesterday with a couple of friends....one guy has a GSXR 750 and his g/f a Ninja 500. I noticed that they were more hunched over on their bikes (obviously with the Gixxer..but I didnt expect it on the Ninja).

A lot of our riding was done on the highway, and my lower back started hurting a bit....I think I find the seating position a little too upright!

Especially after I took a seat on the Ninja, I found it to be a little more comfortable and more sporty. The gixxer on the other hand...a little too sporty for me!

Can anyone recommend any good handlebars to replace my stock one? Not looking for clip-ons here, just something that may be about 1" lower than stock....

I put a set of flat bars on. They have no rise and just a little bit of pull back. Any 7/8" bar will fit, you might have to drill a spot for the controls to fit. If you have too much pull back with a flat bar you'll encoutner problems with the bars hitting the tank...

So its just a flat bar, with a slight angle on both ends? Hmm

Yeah - I had flat (also called "drag bars") on mine for a while but eventually went back to clipons.  I hated that empty tower on the top triple and was too lazy to take it off and grind it down.  Another option that is popular in the streetfighter world are "superbike bars" which are basically dirt bike bars.  These are typically wider and lower than the stockers.  The lowness gives that somewhat sportier position and being wider gives you a little more leverage (maybe not really necessary on the little B4).  

I can't get to photobucket from work to see if I even have any pics with the drag bars.  

If you go to one of the big on-line retailers and look at their selection of 7/8ths bars, you'll see that the possibilities are almost limitless.

Another option.,.. though they're not exactly gorgeous, if you're looking to get even lower, but don't want a full on conversion to clip-ons, is clubman bars.  Tommaselli sells several sets of them.  I have a set on the 919 currently.

No problems. There's about 2" before the bars would hit.

What great looking little bikes these B4s are. Suzuki could sell thousands of these guys in Canada. They are great for the urban or country. I should sell the B12 and look for one of these for the street.

Thanks. I wanna know who snuck the italian designer into the suzuki factory for the b400 build. Completely unlike any other Suzuki made. Unfortuately Suzuki didn't do well at selling these sexy little beasts in North America.

I don't think they tried very hard.  I've only ever had one person know what she was, most others ask me.  He looked at her and called her the prettiest bike Suzuki has ever made.  :motorsmile:

not that im a bar person but i like super bike bars and you can cut them down. On my b4 srad 6 im using renthal fat bars with a bar kit that drills through the upper triple clamp from probably a Cr 250 or something.

D'Oh, I just posted up my own handlebar thread. oh well.

Interfuse: how do you avoid the clearance problems with the brake line and clutch cable hitting the triple clamp? Maybe mine aren't wide enough...

I bought them at a vintage bike show. They were only $20. They had a few different bars available some that would've worked and others that wouldn't. They have some listed on e-bay if you're going that route I can measure my bars for you so you know what you need.

As far as the break and clutch. I had to turn the bolt on the brake res slightly upwards. And everything fit nicely. It's tight on the triple... so they are as low as they can go.
