Title: How can you tell when your CDI unit has failed?
Post by: El Dopa on January 25, 2007, 03:20:14 AM
There's a lot on this board about failing CDI's and carrying spares. All seems like good advice, but....

...if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere with a bike that won't go, how can you tell that it's the CDI that's fritzed, and not a 'something else' type problem? What are the symptoms?

Im not gonna do all the work for you brother get a manual and trace the wires from the hot(key switch ) to the cdi ,cdi to the coils ect......Just highlight the wires that go to the cdi on a sheet of paper or the actual manual my manual looks like a rainbow brite comercial!
cheers
