Import or uk ?
« on: January 09, 2008, 01:36:41 PM »
Ive just been reading the post about de resticting a  jap import.
So, how do you know if your bike is an import ?
I was told by the dealer i got mine from that my bike was a UK. But everyone i mention this to tells me that there are no uk B4's.
So how do i know where it comes from ? Doesnt mention anything in the logbook.

Thanks.

There are UK b4's and if its not mentioned on your logbook it's most likely it is a UK b4. To confirm this if you have a single front brake disc handle bars instead of clip ons and a mild steel exhaust instead of a stainless on it's a uk bike,

Ive got a single disc front brake, but its got an aftermarket stainless exhaust system.
Does it make any difference ? Uk or Import ?

That'll be a UK bike then. What style handlebars do you have just to confirm?

Well, the bars are clip ons, but i reckon they are after market too because they are Renthal style.

dude, renthal style bars arent clip ons. i guess the way they fit onto the yoke could be described as "clipping on" but they arent clip ons. that and the fact that you have a single front disc shows that this is a uk bike.  also if your exhaust has been changed for a aftermarket one then obviously you wont be able to tell from that.

also, the import and uk spec bikes had different indicators.

I was thinking that maybe they aren't "clip ons" after i wrote that, but they do indeed 'clip on'
You know the ones i mean though, straight bars.
Anyway, im still waiting for my speedo cable, two weeks after ordering it. I should have used one of the links supplied on here.
