I only use the front brake. When I start braking before a corner I lean forwards to put more pressure on the front wheel. It would take too much time and concentration to engage the rear brake, it also takes time to move my foot to the pedal and back on the peg to make the corner. Many times the front brake is supplying 100% of the stopping power because the rear wheel is in the air.

well they use it for racing and for road as you can see here
lighter and better braking is what most wave-disc manufactorers claim....
kawasaki zx636r has wave-disc from the factory so its not only show

i use the rear brake alot when there is en extra passenger, when driving alone (most of the time) its rarely used, except when its snowing ofcourse

I know the concept behind wave rotors i was just saying the way it looks it look like more for a show bike not to say it cant be used for racing and the rear is what i was concerned about the the feet that come from where it mounts are to thin like a pvm rotor and i seen one of them blow up.

According to Galfer,the idea is that there is always a leading edge of the rotor striking the pad,which is where most of the braking effect comes from.The edge of the rotor basically digs into the pad,creating more friction.This unfortunately tends to eat up your pads quickly,but they are always fresh and ready to go, since glaze can never build up.
I got one for my FZR1000 too, since its stock rear disc is wasted,and I got another for the B4 since I switched to a 4.5" SV650 rear wheel.They are a bargain on Ebay for 120 bucks and some places throw in a set of Galfer pads too!
Ill be selling the rotor seperate from the wheel,so long as the Loctite decides to play nice!.....probably 50 for the rotor and 120 for the wheel,the powdercoat alone cost 100!Im figurin' some GS500E owner will snatch up the wheel.....
