I use the regular cheapest unleaded in my bike. Rumour has it that optimax etc. are not good for bikes being high revving engines or something along those lines. Is this bulls**t ??

what fuel do you use?

Use the lowest octane that doesn't ping.

If your motor isn't pining, it's fine.

I was using 98 for the last 12 months but have changed to 91 two tanks ago.  The first tank's range was 40km down on normal (160km not 200km) but this could just be an anomoly.  I am still going on the second tank (110km). As far as how the bike runs - I haven't noticed any real difference.

I totally agree, the only thing High Octane fuel does for me is empty my wallet quicker.  But, the wifes M750 hates standard ULP.  The caltex stuff (vortex) seems pretty good.

Hey, did any of you blokes see ACA last night about getting ripped of by the servo's that haven't got their bowsers calibrated.

I saw a report a while back where a guy put 80L into 65L tank.  That has to be more than a calibration mistake.

That's a deliberate and extremely low act from the service station....either that or the report was being a little loose with the truth.

But, yes I know what you mean, the B12 has a 20lt tank and I've put in 21lt and hadn't put on reserve...I had a little chat with the attendant and they agreed that it was probably wrong and kindly charged me for only 16lt, but that was in the country, not the city.

I just use the unleaded petrol...i think its 98..Not the suppreme highest octane but not the lowest one either...Yet I got my bike a few weeks ago so Ive only filled it twice, so I cant really make a comparison to anything...sorry..
