Title: most simple b4 single caliper front brake upgrade?
Post by: b4cruz on February 19, 2006, 01:51:50 AM
what would be the easiest way to get more front brake power
sticking with one caliper and the stock front end?

I usually just downshift but today it was raining and I was going
downhill  and i just really wished my brakes had a bit more.
My stock brakes/lines/cylinders work fine = no mushy feeling
or wierd fluid issues. I'd just like a little more stopping power/confidence.

That is exactly what steel braided lines will get you.  I have them installed on two of my other bikes and can say without a doubt they are well worth it.  Another way to improve your brakes is to install a speed bleeder.  Not that that by itself will improve your brakes, but with it, changing your brake fluid will turn into a 10 to 15 minute process and changing your fluid often makes a great difference.
