After a bunch of procrastination, I finally brought the bike inside for the winter. I'm sad that I won't be riding for a couple of months. But I'm happy that I'll be able to get some work done on the bike.

Awww! I've not even used the car for work yet, and it's been as bad as -6c some morning the past couple of weeks
-
Last week we had 5-10 cm of snow and at night it was going down to -20c. It's supposed to warm up for a couple of days this week, then start snowing like crazy. It's a real hassle for me to bring the bike in, so I figured I'd best do it while the getting was good.
-
Yep, winter is here. I've had to zip up the vents on my jacket. :stickpoke:

Rode home in the snow today, utterly shit it was! Looked ok in the morning so was just wearing normal shoes and jeans and jacket, come back to bike covered in snow! Couldn't feel my legs by the time I was home. Oh well! I love bikes

Bite me... darn SoCal, year-long riding season... :monkeymoon:

And legal lane-splitting, too!

Hasn't snowed yet in the NYC area, so there's still a little more riding time 'round here...

:stop: Heeeeey, that's NorCal! SF Bay is NorCal.
Well, winter is here today. It's raining. Thank goodness, it doesn't last.
-
Well EXCUUUUUUSE me! :yesno: :crackattack:
At least I remembered you were in Cali. If you had your location listed in your profile, I wouldn't have to guess. :stickpoke:
Actually, one nice thing about actually having winter is that I don't feel too bad about having my bike torn apart for a couple months for maintenance and stuff.
-
Pitter,
Allright already, I updated my profile :bslap:
You're right about Winter being a good excuse for maintenance. Here it can be winter (raining) and then the next day the sun can shine and you want to ride. It makes it a little tough to fit in the big maintenance items. I'm biting the bullet this year though good riding days or not there's some major maintenance acomin'.
-
Another plus for living in a colder climate is you apprecaite riding more when you can't do it for a couple of months. That first ride of the season is always a sweet one. I'm already stoked.
I've had the bike inside for a couple of days now and I'm still in the process of cleaning it up. It's amazing how much grime can stick to it. After its clean I'm going to make a list of what I need to do over the winter.

Haha tell me about it. A great trick - get an air compressor, and spray Swarfega Jizer over your bike, leave it a while, then wash it. NEW BIKE! Make sure you re-grease the nessesary bits though lol

Yeah! It finally cooled down enough down here in the HelL A basin to start riding comfortably again. Let the comfortable riding commence!!!

I'll have to give the air compressor a shot. I never thought of that. I've been using castrol super clean (it's a gift from the gods) and a tooth brush.
I'm not sure what Swafega Jizer is... but it kinda sounds like a german porno.

Hehe it's a really good degreaser. If you're spraying, you're bound to get it on the chain and what-not so when you've cleaned the bike, make sure to lube any bits that need it.
