I'm getting a nasty noise that only appears at around 5500 - 6500 RPM when there is load on the engine (when it's in gear) I THINK that it's the cam chain and I'm hoping that it's just the tensioner has gone naff on me. What do you all think? I've never taken a tensioner out or fitted a new one so any advice? is it simple enough to do?
Thank you! Jack

how'd you rotate the motor by hand and why is it important?

woah, just rang up a bike garage near me and they are asking £55 for the tensioner unit, a brakers near me are saying £30. Is there any way I can just get the tensioner it'self cheaper? it's only a few bits of metal and a spring isn't it?

so you dont jump time. the left side cover has a inspection plug there you will find a 17mm bolt that you would turn the motor over counter clockwise.
as for the tensioner i had 7 of them sold them all to a fellow in UK for 10 dollars sorry.
