Next time you get it running you might wanna test your voltage regulator...  they have a tendancy to go on these things.

i was actually in the process of checking the charging system when the cdi went out on me. i've read that overcharging is the main cause of fried cdi's, so i wouldn't doubt there's some issue with the charging system. thanks though. i'll be looking into it, for sure.
