Just curious what a 91 B4 in great shape might be expected to sell for. About 4.5k miles on the odo, no mods to motor or body. The single biggest flaw is that little ding on the frame right above the kneepad, you can see it in the pic. This bike doesn't get run too often, maybe 8 or 10 times all summer, so it spends a lot of time parked in the garage unless I take it out (it's the wife's bike).

Don't you have to do the whole bolt wire/leather suit/race prep thing to do one of those???? (not that I haven't considered it......)

show up rent leathers and go from there street school mild but on the track and a beautiful to boot...(shout out to my Canadian friends there, lol) they have you remove your mirrors and tape up your glass stuff...put water in your bike instead of Antifreeze maybe...its a good time and you will learn something for sure and probably get the BUG!!

Good looking bike, I'm in NoVA also, if you want I can send out a feeler to someone I know that likes B4s.

Do what you want, I haven't even told the wife I've posted this info here. Right now I'd just like to get an idea of what going prices might be, as tough as that can be with a "rare" bike like the B4. I just put on a new rectifier (thanks to all here who've posted on the topic) and it runs like a swiss watch. Hell, if I didn't feel like a monkey f****ing a football when I rode it, I'd never think of selling it. Then again, my main ride is a ZX12, so my bike jollies are well looked after.
-
Cool, I sent something out to two guys I know, but no bites.
I hear what you say about the monkey/football. I'm 6' with long legs, I plan on raising the rear end to make it not look so funny.

I just picked up my '93 with issues for $950 (Running but, frozen rear cylinder, water in tank, running crummy, slightly faded). I considered it a steal.
Prices around here seem to hover around $1500 for a decent running bike. I see them advertised for up to $2500 in cherry shape like yours, but I don't see them sell quickly. I have seen them go for close to that on ebay, but that was "in season".
FWIW.
-
good god where are you at?? :yikes:
-
Raleigh, NC....... good place to be.....
-
950 is too much for a b4 with issues but hey the gas war rages on and bike prices go up :rant2:
-
Far as I was concerned, the issues were pretty darn minor, had them sorted out in less than a month and cost less than $200. The engine was tight and there was little if any rust. I considered myself very lucky.....
The only other ones going for close to that had internal issues, like bad 2nd gear....
This summer a guy in Durham posted a blue/silver one 16K miles $1500, it was gone in less than days....
People were selling Ninja 250s for more than retail for a while here.....
If it's got a title and a full transmission, you can count getting $600 or better from almost any bike around here.....
I sold a '82 GS650 with 20k and an iffy second gear for $1200 end of the summer. That is just what the market is like around here......
-
wow :yikes: and i hear you on the 250 over retail thing
