Title: new member, new b4, new problems!!
Post by: zippy on January 16, 2009, 10:37:04 AM
hi there new to the site,
i just recently purchased an 89 bandit 400,the frame number is gk75a-101555
it has twin discs at the front
i have very little information on this bike so i'm looking to find out why its running like shit :banghead:
the filter looks to be the cut out foam sheet type in oily condition!
carbs are standard i think with standard  jets,
there is a stubby yoshi can on it and i,d say the standard system has been shortened
there is also a single sided swing arm and wheel from a vfr400, and seat unit( :annoy:)

the bike starts but idles very irratically,
the power comes and goes but it seemed to be better on a cold night???
the guy who owned it has the rest of the yoshi system an said i can have it so
i,m wondering
obviously it needs jetted and set up for the exhaust so which jets or kit would suit
and what settings for the floats?
i,ll get some pics up soon
any help greatly appreciated!!

AFAIK, Factory-Pro is the only outfit that is currently offering a jet kit for the B4.

been looking at the carb 30 config kit an some pod filters, may as well go all out the first time!!
whats the story with the kits, do you get a selection of different jets or jus one set?
is it possible do do the jetting myself?
would have a good mechanical backround like!

They usually come with 2 sets of jets, if you go config 30 you need to run pods, Simple as hell to fit yourself jetting just follow they're instructions.
