Title: Newbie Here (Canada)
Post by: kjm on July 04, 2008, 10:49:53 AM
Hello everyone.  New 91 Bandit 400 rider here from near Toronto Ontario.  Couple small issues with the bike that this board has helped me identify so far:

Noisy cam chain tensioner
Possible faulty r/r or battery - still haven't had the time to complete that flow chart but the voltage drops slightly as the revs increase.

I also want to clean up the huge stock signals but all the posts have the pictures gone, so if anyone can give me an idea that would be great.

Just wanted to say hello

-Kevin

Thanks for the welcome guys!  Any idea where I can buy those signals (or something simlilar) in the gta?  This is my first bike so I don't know many shops yet.  Did you do anything to the front?

I've got the same signals on the front but no good pictures of them....  in the third photo down you can kinda see it http://forums.banditalley.net/index.php?topic=11022.msg88345#msg88345

I'll probably be out on the bike this weekend. I'll try to take another photo for you.

Every bike store can order from the Parts Canada Catalog (http://www.partscanada.com/catalogues). If you're not already a member of GTAmotorcycle.com join up. Lots of shop reviews. I personally like cyclewerx (bloor and keele) and 109 cycle (warden and danforth). I strongly dislike motorcycle super store.

Hit me up if you're ever downtown!

Yeah, GTAM is where I found my bandit. I'm on there as the same name as here.  Thanks again for the help.  My brother lives downtown in the bloor west area, so I'm down there quite a bit.  I live in hamilton and work in oakville so maybe i'll hit up Sturgess for the signals.

Not sure how I slept through a bandit 400 ad on gtamotorcyle but I guess I'm only human. I did catch this one on craigslist:

is that the one you picked up?

Sturgess will probably have signals in stock.

I was in the hammer last weekend... I love going up the mountain. Burlington street has lots of nice scenery too!

No that's not it, not sure how I missed that one though as I was settled on a Bandit as a first bike vs a ninja 500 lets say.

Mine had 50k and I got it for $1850.  I bought it within hours of being posted on gtam so I'm not surprised you missed it.

Yes, Hamilton/Dundas area does have some fun roads for sure!

For signals, I really liked what I had done with my B4.  I mounted flushmounts right to the tail plastics (after a fender-ectomy).  For the front, I had them mounted to little pieces of aluminum bar from the radiator.  Most of the pics I had hosted on-line got trashed when this site changed ownership.  You can see them somewhat here:

You can see where I had the rears mounted better here:

I like mounting the headlight with the indicators personally looks tidier i think.

Welcome Kevin. These guys know way too much about these bikes so you can count on them for any info.  :welcome:

That would be "if" he heals up. Old age is slowing the process.

Interfuse - I pretty much copied your tail tidy last night and it came out great.  Looks much better.  Quick question, does the plate still get seen on the 407?

I've never taken the 407 with it, but I'd imagine it would get seen. It's still in plain view, however I've heard of lots of bikes with stock fenders not getting billed on the 407...
