:?: Hi, Iv just changed the oil in my 400 Bandit for the first time, and i was wondering if anyone knows the Oil Capacity so i can fill it up again as i havant got a workshop manual.
Also I have put sum Oil in before now and the eye glass reads full but when the bike has ran for a bit then been switched off, the glass reads empty, can anyone shed sum light on this please?
Thanks

I'm at work so I can't check my manual (you can download one from the thread stickied at the top of this forum or from Pete in the Members forum) but I think it's about 3 US quarts if you are changing the filter.
This might be a dumb question but are you making sure you have the bike upright (not on the sidestand) when you are checking the glass???

This is normal. ( at least this is the same as mine behaves ) Just top up the oil in the sight glass again after you have run it for a bit. I assume that some of the oil initially sitting in the sump gets sucked into the engine internals when you run it and stays there.

Isnt it written on the engine case? 2700ml for the b250 + a bit more if you change the filter aswell.
Its normal for the oil not to be visible in the sight glass for a few minutes after the engine has been running, and as has already been mentioned you must check with the bike on its centrestand, or with someone holding it vertical if you dont have a centrestand for some reason.
