Ok, i have to rebuild my carbs. The bike hasn't run since 1998.
What jets do you recommend?
What should the float be set at?
The screw on the bottom of the carb, how many turns should it be set at?
Plus any other recommendations you may have.

Would be helpful to know if you have any performance mods like a high flowing air filter (K&N) or aftermarket exhaust.

I have often thought the same as Oxford till I did a Yahoo map search.
Martinsburg is about 15 miles south of Altoona.
Basically I am going to keep it stock for now, except for the air filter. That foam piece kind of fell apart when i took of the air box. I will be getting the K&N air filter in its place.

According to my manual...
102.5 is stock on the mains
32.6 is stock on the pilots
14.6mm
1 and 3/4th turn from lightly seated
From my experiance the K&N in of as itself doesn't require a rejet, since the real restriction on the air intake is the tiny little hole the airbox breathes through.

Ah - near Raystown! I live out East now but grew up in Murrysville which is right along 22 in suburban P'burgh.
As anyone who has read my posts here will attest to, I am not a carb guru. I do imagine that the K&N would make stock settings pretty lean. In particular, the infamous 4K flatspot might go from annoying to nasty or somewhere in between. Maybe up a size or two on the mains and/or add a shim to the needles? A/F screws maybe out a little from their 1.75 stock setting? That's probably where I would start but I've been screwing around with my carbs for a year now and they're still not right so... I'd put it all back together in stock form and see how it runs before messing with it.

Raystown is only 15 minutes away. Just the other side of Saxton Mountain. Unless you went to Raystown via 22 you probably came through Martinsburg.
