I was poking around my bike today and i noticed some deformation of the pipes that I hadn't seen before (ah, the joys of discovering everything wrong with a new bike). There are a variety of dents and dings here and there on the pipe, nothing real significant in my eyes, though of course they probably have a cumulative effect. There are, however some fairly significant "flattened" areas on the lower side of the pipes from 1 and 2 right before they come into the first collector (yosh 4-2-1). it looks like the pipe has been slightly crushed with a flatness of up to maybe 3/4 to 1" wide tapering both fore and aft over a total length of 4 or 5 inches.
Is this signicant, in your opinions? I can take some pictures and post them up if it'll help.
if it is significant, is it repairable? or would i have to get someone to bend and weld up new pipes?
thanks

I’m far from expert on this but will throw out my opinion. I doubt it matters even a little. If you were to see the inside the collector of the stock pipes in comparison to that Yosh you’d laugh hysterically. Even with a ding here and a flatspot there… you’re still moving SO much more volume than stock it’s silly. The stock pipes are like a maze in the collector. I’m sure the Yosh has nothing in there that you can’t see from the outside. Although I realize there’s a big difference in pre-collector vs. out near the can but I asked a similar question when I wanted to put my M4 can with a 2” inlet on my 2.125” V&H pipes with a custom reduced mid. Everyone said it would be good and I was real happy with it when I did it. Like I said, that’s just my semi-informed opinion…

If ignorance is bliss and a little knowledge is dangerous, I'm usually happy and harmless!

I have the same exhaust and my pipes are also dented on the bottom. As far as I know they came like that.
