hello form an ol timer. / 400bandit 750
« on: December 03, 2008, 10:01:21 PM »
To all that remember me. I've been away for a while done not much of anything.  Hope all is well with the people I knew here on the board.  I just wanted to let you know about the direction of the 400. I sold my 750 carb'd motor. I just picked up a FI 99 fi motor about two weeks ago. I'm hoping to install it by years end. So i'll have a FI bandit 400/750.  UPgraded my 92 USD fork to 95's (direct fit).   I'm going to try to fit an 1100 gsxr swing arm on the back end again. But I think it will not work because of how the Motor mount brackets were built. The chain rubs on the swingarm pivot arm.
I just wanted to keep intouch with some of you to give an up date.
I'll be posting in the 1200 section for a while. I have a 1990 gsxr I'm restoringabout i want to put a 1200 motor in it.
Also I'm curently putting a 01 xr650l motor in my other bandit rollinmg chassis I have.
I drive Hyosung  Avitar now. after I finish the gsxr, bandit 750 and thumper bandit  i'll be putting a sv 1000 in the Avitar.

Welcome back.   Sounds like you have your work cut out for you... though I do find the XR650L motor in a Bandit chassis a bit of a  :headscratch: (I assume a B4 chassis?)

Yes it is.... My original bike was a dr 650 motor in a gs 500 frame. but I traded my dr motor for my old b4 with the srad motor in it.  I couldn't ever find another dr motor and I came acroos this xl motor. I had put my gs frame in my attic and I didn't want to pull it down. Sat I was bored and decided to see if it'll fit in my parts bandit and if fit with little effort. less effort than the dr/ gs combo
